January 30th, I decided to pray for one person, for one year. I'm keeping a diary of every prayer intention, every day, and at the end of 365 I think I'm going to give it to that person! The best part about prayer is how the Holy Spirit connects us all- I'm curious to know how many of the prayers will actually make sense with what that person is experiencing that day.
I've done this "prayer experiment" in the past, first with a friend in high school, and second with a guy on the baseball team. It's a very passive-aggressive form of movement, but hey, it worked in both cases!
With the friend from high school, it took 5 years of prayer for change to come about!! I was actually sharing this story at the youth retreat last weekend & just started crying! I had no idea that it still moved me that much, but apparently, it does.
With the guy on the baseball team, he was soooo vile, rude, horribly mean... I prayed for 30 days straight, asking that God would move in his heart, and you know what? By the end of the 30 days he was bringing his bible & guitar on road trips, saying "please" & "thank you" and had done a complete 180 with his lifestyle!
WOOT! for the power of prayer!!!
So- what's your 365 day-committment?
