Wednesday Wonders

A really good friend of mine just had her boyfriend break up with her, out of the blue. They'd been together for quite some time, taken vacations and weekend getaways together, and things were getting pretty serious... and then BAM! Gone.

I wonder if people have always suffered love-lost so frequently, or if today's culture and society preaches individuality and freedom to the point where it creates an environment that encourages people to run from any commitments. Sometimes I'm really grateful that I'm NOT seeing anyone right now. I couldn't handle another broken heart.
