A Quiet, White Night

The softest silence envelops the night as sparkling snowflakes fall
and fresh snow tucks everything in, under the blanket of delicate calm.
Dancing swirls are illuminated under the street light,
just as if they were painted in mid-air, and the wind whispers a lullaby:
"Shhh, shhhh, hush-a-bye.  Rest your head, and close your eyes.
I'm playing among the branches as the trees stand tall,
the twinkling bits of crystaled ice tickle as they fall."
A quiet, white night,
a peaceful sleep before the the morning sunrise.
